We Love the USA  Bulletin Board This is a fun, fast, Patriotic Bulletin Board.   I did this with my class last week and plan on keeping it up for the month of July. It doesn't really need much explanation and only takes a few supplies.   You will need bulletin board paper, construction paper in red, white and blue, scissors and "little hands".   I did write their names on their hands for them to admire! :-)    I think this board would also look nice with a black background.  I used blue only because the next them has to do with the ocean and I want to reuse the board.   Have a great 4th of July!

Marshmallow Painting With a SMORE Snack My class absolutely loves to paint .   I wish I could remember who suggested painting with marshmallows and I would give them credit, but I can’t.    As I began to plan this project I came up with a snack to go with it, needless to say it was a big hit with the kids and the painting was a lot of fun. Items you need : Large bag of large marshmallows Paint  and small flat bowls Construction paper (any color… I chose blue ) SMORE Snack 1 bag of mini-marshmallows 1 bag  chocolate chips (you won’t need the whole bag) Individual Scooby Snacks  1 per student Step One:    Protect your work area.   I use newspapers. Step Two:   Pour paint in small flat bowls Step Three:   Give each child a piece of construction paper and a marshmallow.   Have the children dip their marshmallow in the paint and use like a stamp on their paper.   ...

January Brings Organization

The Holiday Season is in the rearview mirror and its full speed ahead into 2012!    Every year about this time I get unsettled and need to organize.    Well, to be honest, I get the desire to organize and spend many hours daydreaming about how wonderful the end result will be.   Unfortunately, I usually start strong and finish weak, leaving some really major areas in my home still needing help. I really want this year to be different; therefore, I have been on a mission to find some advice/ideas that will work within my personality.    My past failures come from being overwhelmed and not knowing where to start.    The question of whether I should tackle the cabinet with the Tupperware   and lids, the spice cabinet or   forge straight   to the closets   discourage me before I even start.    I admit to being a little ADD and have a habit of making a great plan complete with a list of containers to buy.  ...
